A RARE CHINESE QUIVER (JEBELE), QING DYNASY, 19TH CENTURY

with hinged body of cloth and purple velvet-covered hide, the borders reinforced with stitched black leather, the front applied with pierced and chased gilt copper-alloy mounts including three large stylised shòu symbols and traditional flowers, and the inner portion with three folded pockets (areas of wear, small losses), 26.5 cm high

A quiver of related type is preserved in the Brooklyn Museum (acc. no. 34. 1386).
