A GERMAN SILVER SOUP TUREEN, COVER AND STAND, CARL FRIEDRICH WILHELM HEINRICH OTTO, BERLIN, CIRCA 1820 the almost hemispherical bowl applied to the rim with cast sections of openwork fruiting vines between the handles cast as griffin busts with upswept wings, gilt interior, the three cast griffin supports on patera set plinths resting on a triform base, affixed to a raised stand on four leaf-headed paw feet, the slighly domed cover with sphinx finial, with milled borders throughout 44.5cm high, 7585gr (243gr) Provenance: a Private Continental Collection, acquired Christie's, Geneva, 12 May 1983, lot 116
