AN ATTRACTIVE BURGONET AND FALLING BUFFE IN THE GERMAN STYLE OF CIRCA 1570-80

comprising burgonet with rounded crown rising to a tall comb, flanged outward at the base to form an integral neck-guard and fitted at each side with hinged cheek-pieces, the buffe formed of three plates, the lowest shaped to the chin and the upper two secured at the left side by sprung studs, and the whole decorated throughout with applied brass strips at its borders, 34.0 cm high (2)
