A CHINESE BRONZE FIGURE OF GUANYIN, MING DYNASTY, 16TH/17TH CENTURY

cast seated in dyanasana and holding a peach in the left hand, wearing a long flowing robe hemmed with a foliate band and open at the chest to reveal an elaborate jewelled necklace, the serene face with downcast eyes beneath high arched brows, flanked by pendulous ear lobes and surmounted by a pierced diadem, all supported on an integral lotus base comprised of three tiers of overlapping lotus petals, traces of red lacquer and gilding, 37cm high
