A RARE SOUTH INDIAN SWORD (KOPIS), PROBABLY 15TH CENTURY
with recurved blade double-edged towards the point, the lower section with a reinforced back edge and with a raised moulding, iron hilt extending over the lower portion of the blade with a pair of long broad chiselled langets, angular figure-of-eight shaped guard chiselled with scrolls, carved wooden cushion-shaped pommel with tall conical moulded iron button (pitted throughout), 74.5 cm blade
