Amongst other pieces, he modelled the famous Columbus vase, as well as a few individual vellum ware figures, for the company's pavillion at the Chicago 'World Columbian Exposition' in 1893. A few other figures were added to the range in the following years. None of these early vellum figures were ever produced in large numbers.
