Cronyn's facaination with the life of the Thames, its movement and colour seen from his studio in St Peter‘s Wharf was unbounded, and he continued painting and sketching it until his final months. Here his enthusiasm has brought the houses of Lonsdale Road in Barnes much nearer to the river than is usually envisaged, perhaps so they can share in the enjoyment.
