Suzanne Zack has over 30 years’ experience working in the international art market. Having read History of Fine and Decorative Arts at Leeds University, Suzanne spent a decade at Phillips Fine Art Auctioneers where she was appointed Head of British and European Watercolours and Portrait Miniatures.
Subsequently, she established herself as an independent fine art consultant, working with auction houses, galleries, specialist fine art dealers and both private and corporate collectors, providing research, valuation and advise on buying and selling, as well as conservation, curation and display. More recently, Suzanne ran the British and European Fine Art department at Chiswick Auctions for five years.
During her career she has uncovered many exciting works including a pair of previously unpublished pen and ink sketches by John Constable with provenance from the collection of the great drawings expert Leonard Duke in the 1950’s. She more recently catalogued over 900 drawings and watercolours from the collection of the late art dealer Cyril Fry whose gallery in Jermyn Street, London was a mecca for collectors and connoisseurs from the
1960’s-1990’s.
She makes regular appearances on the BBC Antiques Roadshow where she is one of the picture experts.
Suzanne is a Paintings and Works on Paper expert with a particular focus on British drawings and watercolours.
