A 22 BORE NORTH AFRICAN OTTOMAN TOE-LOCK GUN, ALGERIA, LATE 18TH/19TH CENTURY

with octagonal barrel retained by four embossed silver bands each decorated with flowers and scrollwork, standing back-sight, external iron lock faced in brass and cut with a brief inscription on the lower edge, the principle parts applied with silver chased with scrollwork, iron baluster trigger, full stock inlaid with engraved silver flowerheads (small losses), inlaid with openwork panels on each side of the fore-end, one set with a coral, engraved silver trigger-plate, faceted butt (small repairs), and ivory butt-cap (sling swivels and ramrod missing), 134.5 cm barrel
