with broad flat Sudanese blade etched with a panel of calligraphy on each face, iron hilt of characteristic form extending over the lower portion of the blade with a pair of shaped panels, embossed with a raised ellipse over the forearm and a stylised mask over the hand, moulded brim, and reinforced around the principal border with a scalloped copper alloy panel (patinated), 86.0 cm
